DANIEL THOMPSON Obituary


Daniel R. Thompson  
Of Chevy Chase, MD passed away on May 9, 2018. He was 89. The son of Edward Thompson and Anna Liebeck, he met his wife, Anne at Queens College, CUNY. After completing service in the Army, Dan graduated from Georgetown Law, eventually founding his own boutique food and drug law practice. A devout Catholic, Dan was ordained a deacon of the first permanent class of the Archdiocese of Washington in 1971. More than generous, he donated to many causes, including Catholic charities, the University of Maryland and the Washington Redskins. He was most proud of his daughters, sons and grandchildren, especially the ordination of his son, Fr. David Thompson. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Anne Genereux Thompson, his son, Fr. David Thompson and daughter Susan Thompson. He is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Cohen, son Gregory (Mary) Thompson, grandchildren, Kristofer Thompson, Nicholas (Renée), Benjamin, and Sarah Cohen, Michael, Sara, and Emily Thompson, and great-grandchildren, Jacques and Julienne Cohen. Friends may call at Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament, Western Ave. and Quesada St., NW., Wednesday, May 16 from 10 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Interment St. Gabriel's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Missionhurst, 4651 N. 25th St., Arlington, VA 22207. Arrangements by DeVOL.
