He was an engineer's engineer and a true giant in his field. I did not know him personally, but I read his books, took some of the lectures he presented many years ago at the MIT/LL Radar Course, and I was once grilled by him when I presented the Blake Chart for a proposed radar. It is a point of pride for me that my chart withstood the grilling. My sympathy for his friends and family. He seemed like a great guy.
