DAVID LEWIS WEISBROD  
On Sunday, December 13, 2020, DAVID LEWIS WEISBROD (Age 83) of Silver Spring, MD, after a long struggle with Parkinson's Disease. David was born in New York City on November 28, 1937. Husband of Carol of Bloomfield, CT; father of Stephen (Liz Singer) Weisbrod of Washington, DC and Eva (Ben) Geertz of New Haven, CT, grandfather of Nina and Nathan Weisbrod of Washington, DC and Henrietta Geertz of New Haven, CT. He also survived by his longtime friend and companion Trudy Downs, of Silver Spring, MD. David was the son of the late Henrietta and Harold Weisbrod. His mother died when he was only eight years old. David graduated from New York City's High School of Music and Art (now known as LaGuardia High School) and Harvard College. He worked for many years as a systems analyst at the Yale University Library before joining the faculties of Columbia University School of Library Service and then the Pratt Institute School of Information and Library Science. He also engaged in late-career graduate work in library science at Rutgers University. Outside of work, David enjoyed a lifelong passion for music and sang in several choruses, including the Renaissance Chorus, the New York Choral Society, the Washington Chorus and the City Choir of Washington. After retiring, David moved to the Riderwood Senior Living Community in Maryland, where he had many friends and was active in the local music and Jewish communities. The family has requested that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to Alumni & Friends of LaGuardia High School (https://alumniandfriends.org/).
