I met Dena when I joined the Seneca Valley Sugarloafers. I couldn't keep up with her on my first dozen walks, but through her encouragement, I gained stamina and enjoyed years of her company on walks throughout Maryland. I am blessed to have been in the company of Dena and Stan for many years. I will carry fond memories.

Dena was faithful Prayer Warrior, and my longtime mentor and friend. Her 80+ years were rich with wisdom, spunk, intelligence, humor, and grace; an inspiration to all who are blessed to have known her. A deeply spiritual woman, Dena was studying for her Bat Mitzvah; another example of her lifelong commitment to learning and growth.
As Sunday's OT reading from Daniel attests: "Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the sky, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever."
Shine on, precious Dena, shine on.
