DERRICK A. HASKINS "Fats" (Age 55)
Native Washingtonian, passed away on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at the Washington Hospital Center. The eldest son of Ena Haskins and the late Richard Haskins, he leaves a brother, Alden Haskins, Sr.; sister-in-law, Deana; nephew, Alden Haskins, Jr.; great-niece, Meah Haskins; an aunt, Gloria Moody; other relatives and friends. Beloved Fats is greatly missed by his family and friends. Please join us as we celebrate the life of one of God's blessed children. On Friday, November 19, 2010, a wake will be held at Saint Luke's Episcopal Church, 1514 15th Street, N.W., Washington, DC 20005 from 10 a.m. until funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment Fort Lincoln Cemetery, Brentwood, MD. Arrangements by McGuire.

Ena and Alden,
It's a hard time for the both of you...God promised us two things we will live and we will die. The human part of us finds it’s hard to let go. Derrick will be missed. In my father’s house are many mansions, if it were not true I would not have told you. God said, I go to prepare a place for you… and if I go I will come again... It’s the place where the righteousness can call home. I believe!

It was 30 years ago that we took a picture together. I don't remember all the details, but you must have been a fun and heck of a nice guy to take a pic with me. We must have had alot of fun. May GOD keep you in His perfect peace. My Condolences to the family.

Fats,,we all will miss you comimg over visiting with us singing,laughing.and dancing.oh,and how you loved going out with us even though you wanted to go to baystreet and we would end up going to another spot.I will never forget how you would say the word BUUMPING
