DOUGLAS DETWILER Obituary
DOUGLAS M. DETWILER
Passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 8, 2018 from the effects of a stroke. Mr. Detwiler was raised in Clifton and attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute. He became a registered land surveyor in Virginia, Maryland and Ohio and was a principle in two surveying and civil engineering firms. Mr. Detwiler became a member of Acacia Masonic Lodge No. 16 A.F. & A.M. in Clifton in August 1950; he was their longest surviving member. Mr. Detwiler was a very caring and loving man to his family and friends and he will be deeply missed. Survivors include his life partner, Nancy Carrouth; children, Deborah, David, and Douglas Jr.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at Clifton Cemetery. A celebration of life will follow the service at the Acacia Masonic Lodge No. 16.
