Douglas Glasgow Obituary
Douglas Graham Glasgow
Douglas Graham Glasgow passed away on August 9 2023, in Washington, DC at the age of 94. Born in New York on January 19, 1929, he was the youngest of 13 children born to Matthew and Angelin Glasgow. He is predeceased by his wife, Frieda Glasgow and daughter Rickie Glasgow. He is survived by his daughter Karen Glasgow; his grandson Douglas R. Glasgow; his partner Cheryl McQueen and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, friends and colleagues. He is deeply loved and will be profoundly missed. A celebration of his life will be held October 7, 2023, at Howard University at 10:30 a.m. In his memory, please send donations to the National Association of Black Social Workers in his name.

With Dr. Glasgow came a number of provocative professors who assisted in molding a group of young minds into remarkable individuals. These individuals exceeded all expectations impacting the future of the School of Social Work and its curriculum.
On behalf of the Class of 1973, we express our gratitude for our dean. As we continue to reflect the principles shared by this giant of a man. Douglass Glasglow was truly a force in the life of the Class of 1973, fifty years ago this group of curious individuals were motivated to embark on a new phase in their lives and challenged to realign our thought process and consider the value of the Black Prospective.
