Einar Hirw

Einar Hirw passed away with his daughters at his side on October 24, 2025 at INOVA Fairfax Hospital. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Barbara and parents Selma and Ewald Hirw. He is survived by his daughters, Tanja Warnick of Lakewood, CO and Linda Hirw of Staunton, VA, as well as his granddaughter Alice.
Born in Riga, Latvia, Einar immigrated to Frankenmuth, MI with his family as a child. He served in the Army reserves, enjoyed time working at the VA Hospital in Battle Creek, MI, and spent the bulk of his career employed in personnel for the federal government in Washington, DC. He will forever be remembered as a dedicated nature lover, eternal Commanders fan, and amateur history buff. His ashes will be interred in a private ceremony at a later time at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Falls Church, VA.
