ELINOR MARGARET LITTLE
On Tuesday, August 9, 2011, of Washington, DC. Beloved wife of the late Francis E. Little; mother of Kathleen L. (David) Powell and the late Francis M. Little; grandmother of David T. (Toko), Colleen, Mary Frances, Alicia and Kristen and four great-grandchildren; sister of Mary Louise Fowler. Also survived by many loving family members and friends. Relatives and friends may call at St. Anthony's Church, 12th & Monroe Streets, NE, Washington, DC, Saturday, August 13, 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hillhaven Nursing Center Inc., 3210 Powder Mill Rd., Adelphi, MD 20783.www.COLLINSFUNERALHOME.com

Mrs. Little was a wonderful woman and great secretary. All of us at St. Anthony's had contact with her one time or another throughout her 30 year history there. Her sense of humor mixed with a deep faith and kindly advice elevated her to a special place in my heart. She touched many thousands of lives. I never heard an ill word about her either. Kathy, I'm so sorry for your loss.

Elinor made my family part of her Ventnor family which led to many years of friendship. She will be sadly missed.

Elinor was such an important part of the staff at St. Anthony's,always supportive of the administration, staff, students and school community. She could always be counted on to be there when there was a need. She was firm but gentle,and had a wonderful sense of humor that helped us all through good times and difficult ones. I am richer for having known her.

I have so many fond memories of Mrs. Little... her laugh, upbeat nature, genuine interest in every student,and always at the sporting events cheering the team to victory. Many thanks to her family for sharing her with us. May she rest in peace.

Ms Little was the wonderful school secretary at St Anthony's when I taught there. When I was carrying my babies, she kept a new pair of shoestrings in her desk so she could "tie off the cord" if I went into labor at school. What a love she was!
