EMILY P. McLAUGHLIN  
Emily Mae (Powell) McLaughlin, 85, widow of James Ferguson McLaughlin of Ralphine, Virginia, and formerly of Rockville, Maryland, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2015, in Augusta Health, Fishersville, VA. Mrs. McLaughlin was born on July 18, 1929, in Bethesda, MD, a daughter of the late Harry and Elizabeth (Parks) Powell. Emily volunteered at the Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, MD for many years. She was a homemaker, a loving mother and grandmother.In addition to her parents and husband, Emily was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Powell; and two sisters, Gladys Federline and Hallie Henley. Mrs. McLaughlin is survived by two sons, Gary L. McLaughlin and wife Kathy of Gaithersburg, MD, and Glenn Powell McLaughlin of Palmyra, MO; a daughter, Gail M. Wolcott and husband Bernie of Raphine, VA with whom she made her home; a sister, Jean Smith of Sarasota, FL; six grandchildren, Steve Wolcott, Leslie Hagerty, Jennifer McLaughlin, Michael McLaughlin, James McLaughlin, and Angel McLaughlin; six great-grandchildren; two-great-great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews all of which she loved and cherished. A Celebration of life will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 12, 2015, in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastors Ronnie Harris and Steve Wolcott. The family will receive friends following the service.A Graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 13, 2015, in Parklawn Memorial Park, Rockville, MD, by Pastor Steve Wolcott.
