McCARTHY EMMETT GRAYSON McCARTHY CDMR., USCG (Ret.) Went home to our eternal Father on May 1, 2009. He went peacefully from home in Ocean Pines at the age of 87. He was born October 21, 1921 in Medford MA. The youngest son of the late Herbert and Frances and he was preceded in death by his 14 siblings. He is survived by his beloved wife, Eileen (Conboy) McCarthy; and his children, Kathleen (Richard) Yost, Margaret McCarthy, Emmett McCarthy, Jr., Christine (John) Beane, Eileen M. McCarthy, Virginia (Michael) Riley and Suzanne (Wayne) Palmateer. Also, survived by his 21 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Cmdr. McCarthy will be waked 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, May 4, 2009 at St. John Neumann Roman Catholic Church, 11211 Beauchamp Road, Berlin, MD. 21811, where a Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at 11 a.m. Interment will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Little Sisters of Jesus and Mary, P.O. Box 1755, Salisbury, MD 21802, or to the St. John Neumann Scholarship Fund.
