Col. ERIC KOBBE  
Col. Eric Kobbe died on October 16, 2013 at the age of 91. He would have turned 92 on December 14, 2013. He was the fifth generation of Army Officers in his family.Col. Kobbe was born in Boston, Massachusetts on December 14, 1921. He lived on Army Posts with his mother and father throughout the United States. He entered the Service from California as a Cavalry Officer in 1941. Col. Kobbe served in the Italian Campaign in World War II and in the Korean War. Some of his military awards include the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster, two Bronze Star Medals (one with "V" device for Valor,) Joint Service Commendation Medal and the Meritorious Service Medal. Col. Kobbe retired from the Army in 1970.Col. Kobbe is survived by a son, Col. Michael Kobbe of Virginia; a daughter, Mrs. Christine Allin of Leavenworth, KS; and four grandchildren.Col.
