On Thursday, April 30, 2020, ERIC L. "Ric" OKIN of Rockville, MD. Beloved husband of Sonya Morris Okin. Devoted father of Deborah and Michael Gemma and Rebecca and Samuel Levy. Loving grandfather of Jacob and Alana Gemma and Ian Levy. Dear brother of Abby Okin. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 1, 2020; however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, funeral services and shiva will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to Congregation Etz Hayim, www.etzhayim.net or to the Parkinson's Foundation, www.parkinson.org. I just found out that Rik passed away, I am so, so sorry. Rik was one of my best friends at Dean and I have many happy memories of time with Rik and my boyfriend at the time, Chris. Please accept my deepest sympathies.

Ricky's parents and my parents, Esther and Leroy Leibel, were good friends for many years. If I'm not mistaken, Julie introduced my parents. Leroy and Julie's collaboration at Aristo Dry Cleaners was special.
I have wonderful childhood memories of spending time with "Uncle Julie," "Aunt Nette" and Ricky and Abby. Julie and Nette were involved parents who enjoyed making up games and fun activities that we could all enjoy together. I remember one particular long weekend spent at the beach together when Ricky and I laughed so hard, we fell off of our chairs.
My heartfelt condolences to Ricky's family and friends.

Dear Soyna and Family,
My prayers are with you and the family. Eric was my boss while working together at DFAS. He was such a wonderful boss and person to work for during those days. Even after his retirement from the government, I treasured the times our group was able to get together occasionally for lunch in Springfield, Va.
