My dear Frances, my eldest sister, always taught me new things. I remember that when I was a little boy, she taught me all about the anatomy of insects as she had learnt in her biology class, and we had a neat little collection of butterflies. Later in life, Frances introduced me to contemplative prayer and Christian meditation. A few years ago, she introduced me to the Centre for Action and Contemplation and shared with me the link to their website. Ever since then I have participated in the daily meditation of Fr. Richard Rohr that's emailed to subscribers. I feel the presence of my dear Frances whenever I receive and reflect on those readings. She is with me always because our love is eternal.

Dearest Frances, I miss you but I know that God is taking good care of you and you must be happy in your new life. Mommy must be very happy to have you with her. With deep and eternal love, your sister Sandra

Sweet Frances,
We have been "forever" friends through good and bad times. And, even in the bad, your smiles and laughter always prevailed. When my husband passed, you reminded me that the energy of his spirit is still with us. I hear your words now: "Just as angels exist all around us, your love for him will never fade and neither will his spirit. Sometimes, when you are particularly aware, you will feel as if he is standing right beside you..."
You and I worked -- and played -- together for more than 40 years. We loved Public Radio, and our work was always fun -- even when National Cathedral's Bishop John Walker recruited you away for his Community Relations initiative. The happiest of times? When you met and married Bill!
Thank you, Frances, for showing me that true friends are the family we choose. Your spirit will always be with me.

Our family is grieving the loss of our precious Sister, Frances Lowrie Beard. We join with her beloved husband William Beard and daughter Patrique Beard in giving thanks for God's wonderfully made Fran - even more beautiful in spirit than her head-turning classic features.
Fran had the biggest heart, looking out for each and every family member and countless friends. She was dedicated to the LUNGevity Foundation, causes for justice and the St Francis Mission at Mary Gate of Heaven in Negril.
Her Convent of Mercy Alpha family will remember her as the eloquent valedictorian whose speech made the Gleaner front page.
We at my company PROComm were the beneficiaries of her expert guidance in organizational development.
We are sad and bereft - Fran was our Rock. As believers in the Resurrection we know she continues to live in the House of the Lord, exercising her green thumb to create beautiful gardens around it.
Rest in Peace my darling Sister. - Jean Lowrie-Chin
