Francis Kraemer Obituary
FRANCIS WICKHAM KRAEMER JR. "Frank"
passed away on Friday, May 20, 2022. He was born in Meriden, CT on May 24, 1932 to the late Francis and Anna Kraemer. He attended Loomis Chafee School and graduated from Georgetown University in 1954.
After College, Frank served in the Navy and later was an English instructor in DC. He then spent two years teaching English in the Turkish Navy Academy. He started working in real estate on Capitol Hill upon his return and opened his own real estate brokerage, Kraemer & Co in 1968.
In 1983, he was ordained a Deacon in the Archdiocese of Washington, DC. He served three Parishes: St Peter's on Capitol Hill, St Vincent de Paul, and Holy Trinity. He put his faith in action by serving the community.
Frank leaves three children, F. Wickham Kraemer, III (Mary), Betsy Mettler (David), and Ned Kraemer (Lauren); seven grandchildren, his sister, Nancy Wertz (Dave); and many nieces and nephews who all brought him great joy over the years. He was predeceased by his sisters Jane Dubuc, Mary Lou Hamilton and Catherine Kraemer; and brother, John "Jack" Kraemer; as well as many in-laws.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Church on Capitol Hill, 313 2nd Street SE, Washington DC 20003.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Peter's Church, 313 2nd Street SE, Washington DC 20003 or St. Anselm's Abby School at 4501 South Dakota Ave NE, Washington, DC 20017.
