GARY BLUM Obituary

Gary David Blum  (Age 76)
Passed away Thursday evening, January 6, near his home in Rockville, MD. Born April 23, 1945 in New York City to Ruth and Herbert Blum. He was the eldest of four children and is survived by Enid Deeter (Richard), Marsha Silverman, and Lew (Corrine). He spent his childhood helping on the family farm in Oxford, NY before joining the Navy for nine years, serving in two tours in Vietnam. A loving, quiet man, who never spoke ill of anyone, Gary spent most of his time doting on his family and making sure no one was ever left wanting. He was able to fix anything, and in the rare occurrence that he could not, he sure enjoyed trying. Gary loved all things food related, especially when sharing a meal with family and friends. He was lucky enough to share his life and love with an ever-expanding family. Preceded in death by wife, Isabel, with whom he had two sons, Kerry and Aaron (Kyla). Love struck again after meeting Janice Glickman and her three children, Ilene, Wendy, and Steven (Tara). His legacy continued to grow to include six grandchildren, Jake, Ben, Isaac, Remy, Briggs, and Raya. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to two foundations that Gary supported: the American Red Cross and Doctors Without Borders or to Temple Isaiah in Fulton, MD.Graveside Ceremony to be conducted Sunday afternoon at Garden of Remembrance Memorial Park in Clarksburg, MD.
