George Beuschold Obituary
George Edwin Beuschold
George Edwin Beuschold, a former Washington Senior Professional of 33 years currently of Newtown, Pennsylvania passed away on April 5, 2023 at the age of 80. Born in Philadelphia to the late George C. and Elizabeth Sobey Beuschold.
After graduating from Bethlehem High School George attended Penn State University where he earned a B.A. in Labor-Management Relations. He was a proud member of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. From 1964 to1966 he served in the United States Army 25th Infantry stationed in Hawaii and Vietnam. George returned to Penn State and earned a second B.A. in Economics. In 1970 he earned his Masters Degree in Business Administration from American University. George later furthered his education at Harvard University Kennedy School of Government.
His professional career included serving as an Economist in the Executive Office of the President, Business Analyst for the Congressional Commission, and a Finance Officer at NOAA in the U.S. Department of Commerce.
George was an athlete and adventurer. He vacationed often in Avalon, NJ with his many cousins and travelled to the British Virgin Islands with his cousins Ben, Sue and Wendy. He also enjoyed many trips to Rehoboth Beach, DE with good friends. Family and friends will also remember George's lifelong passion for luxury sports cars.
George is survived by his cousins Wendy Sloan (the late Ted), Benton Wilde (Sue), 2nd cousins Theodore Sloan, Christine Rannie, Christopher Sloan, Scott Wilde, Kimberly Miller, and Stacey Everson.
Relatives and friends are invited to George's Life Celebration Wednesday, April 19, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. followed by his Funeral Service 11:30 a.m. at Swartz Givnish Funeral Home, 323 East Washington Ave, Newtown, PA 18940. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Washington Crossing National Cemetery at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations in George's memory may be made to The Prostate Cancer Research Institute or Disabled Veterans National Foundation.
