George William Dirner
George William Dirner LOVED the obituary section. As his daughter, I found this obsession morbid and borderline macabre. But what he was really curious about was how someone would be remembered. I remember my Dad as a man of science. For him, it was a practice that was concrete and measurable, but not without mystery. The unexplained is what connected him to all of you. It was the fun part of being alive; an endless debate on the why and the how. His legacy is the way he lived his life. George was a loving and devoted partner to Marg, a constant for his daughter Cul, relentless fan of his son-in-law Andrew, Bucky forever to his grandchildren Finny and Aidan, BFF and portaging pal to Arm and Mack, and the most empathetic dog owner to Boots, Rachel, Gretchen, Gracie, Riley, Bear, and Tilly. Cheers to loyalty, love, and IPAs. We miss you. George died April 12, 2023. A private scattering of George's ashes will take place with his family.

Mr. Dirner, was one of my favorite teachers. We had an ongoing sock war to see who could wear the most outrageous socks. I will always remember his quiet but enthusiastic approach to science. He was always open to my endless questions and never disparaged my sense of curiosity. May his memory forever be a blessing to all who loved him. Rest well Mr. Dirner. Deb

He was well respected due to exceptional teaching skills and his ever present congenial demeanor . I treasure the time we shared together ...A great loss to all...

Margaret, I had no idea that George had passed until I saw the wedding photo you posted today. What a warm and loving person he was! I am so so sorry for your and Cullen´s loss. You are both in my prayers!
