GEORGE VERNON HANES
George Vernon Hanes, age 89 of Fairfax, VA died after a lengthy illness on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at his residence. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Vilma C. Hanes, his children Bonnie Hanes Myers and husband Ernie and Steven Hanes and wife Gloria, his grandchildren Shellie Myers Lopez, Todd Myers, Shannon Myers Garofalo and Linda Hanes; and by his great granddaughter Reagan Garofalo. The family will receive friends at Oakton United Methodist Church, 2951 Chain Bridge Road, Oakton, VA on Saturday, December 31, 2011 from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. at which time funeral services will then be conducted. Interment Flint Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggest contributions be made to Parkinson's Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, NY, NY 10018 or to Evercare Hospice, 12018 Sunrise Valley Drive #480, Reston, VA 20191 in memory of George Hanes.
