John, though I didn't know your father, I know you to be a great man which you would have learned from your father. Losing a parent is a sad thing, but all of your memories stay with you and keep them close to your heart.

Jud was my earliest and closest friend during all our years at Nativity grade school. We made model airplanes and three dimensional maps for geography classes together. We were on the 3-man team that competed in spelling and grammar contests at Gonzaga and St John's. We double dated some in the dating years and we were roommates together in the Navy V-12 program at Mt St Mary's College. But the most I owe him was persuading me to attend the Catholic Students group meeting in 1946 after the War where I found my Anna Marie. She died in May 201. He was a neighbor in Wheaton but we sadly spent too many later years apart as his academic career blossomed and mine was in legal work in Government.I treasure our friendship and revel in his life. Be proud Patsy and all of you for your father that I knew so well. I have suffered a loss. I will be at his funeral.
