GEORGE STEVENS Obituary
DR. GEORGE ALBERT STEVENS
On Tuesday, May 28, 2013, of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved husband of the late Margaret McKee Stevens; father of Irene and Mary Ellen (Timothy) Stevens; grandfather of Evan and Ryan. He was preceded in death by four siblings. Dr. Stevens was a Professor Emeritus with The Department of Agriculture Economics at the University of MD College Park. He was a WW II veteran who served in the US Army and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal and the European Theatre Ribbon with five Battle Stars for campaigns throughout Europe where he served as a Tank Destroyer Unit Comdr. Graveside service and inurnment Arlington National Cemetery Columbarium at a later date. He was a good friend of my mom and dad Marge and Carl "Gus" Gustafson. They had a lot of fun together through the many years. George loved dads garden and dad even planted black eyed peas for him. He was always happy and smiling when I would see him except the last time at dads funeral. We will miss you too George. RIP

We have been friends of George for many years but of late I'm ashamed to say I have only been in touch by mail. We would very much appreciate knowing when the burial service will be held. Our sincere sympathy from this family to yours. George was certainly an interesting, amusing and unique character. He will be missed! The Carl Gustafson Family
