Gerald P. Nye, Jr. "JERRY"  
Gerald Prentice Nye, Jr., 78, of Lake Park, Florida, passed on Monday, June 21, 2021 in the West Palm Beach VA Hospice facility. Born February 22, 1943 in Washington, DC, Jerry was the son of the late U.S. Senator Gerald P. Nye, Sr. and Marguerite Johnson Nye of Chevy Chase, Maryland, where he was raised and graduated from Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School in 1961. Jerry proudly served his country in Viet Nam while in the U.S. Army. While there, he was severely wounded and received the Purple Heart. He was pleased with his continuing care at VA hospitals throughout his life. He was an excellent golfer and was a Club Champion at Columbia Country Club in Chevy Chase, MD, before moving to Florida in 1988. He ran his own company, GPN International, providing construction supplies to contractors until his retirement a few years ago. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Casey Nye and stepdaughter Danielle Casey Alsop and her husband Sam; brother, Richard J. Nye of Williamsport, MD; sister, Deborah Nye Corgan and husband Rev. John of York, ME; Aunt Virginia M. Johnson of Minneapolis, MN; daughter, Margaret Mossman and husband Timothy of Gaithersburg, MD; three granddaughters: Brittany Nye McIntyre and husband Michael of Bethesda, MD; Megan Mossman of Gaithersburg, MD; and Amanda Mossman of Montrose, CA; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Gerald P. Nye, III "Jerry" of Fort Lauderdale, FL. Interment of his ashes will be held privately at a later time.
