Glen Rhodes Obituary

Glen Robert Rhodes, 77, of Little River, South Carolina, passed away on August 14, 2024.

He was born in Spokane, Washington on October 13, 1946, and attended Plainview High School in New York. Glen did his undergraduate work at Cornell University and graduated from Duke University Medical School.

Glen was a vascular surgeon known for his clinical research of heparin induced thrombocytopenia (HIT) at Duke.

He was an avid art collector. His love for photography led him to film and produce surgical procedure videos. He was a voracious reader and enjoyed traveling the world.

He was predeceased by his parents, Alva L Rhodes and Rose Sevin Rhodes. He is survived by his wife Pamela Schneider Rhodes; stepdaughter Sylvia Hauer (Lance); step-grandsons Justin Mathis (Bayle) and Brandon Mathis (Ashley); step-grandchildren Logan Mathis and Emma Mathis; and sister Georgette Rhodes.

A service celebrating Glen's life will be held Saturday, September 7, 2024, at St. Stephens Episcopal Church, 801 11th Ave. North, North Myrtle Beach, SC 29582, with Father Wilmot Merchant officiating. Should family or friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association (act.alz.org).
