Glenn Moss Obituary



MOSS GLENN ARTHUR MOSS Chief Master Sergeant (USAF Retired) Glenn Arthur Moss, 87-years-old, departed this life on March 21, 2009. He was born October 19, 1921 in Preston, Oklahoma to William T. Moss and Adeline M. Hottenstein. Glenn graduated from Preston High School in 1939. He enlisted in the Army and served during WWII in Northern Africa, Sicily, Italy, France and Germany. Upon his return he met his wife, Dorothy Louise Sallis, at a local dance in Okmulgee, OK, and was later married on April 3, 1947 at age 25. After living in El Paso, TX, he re-enlisted and served in the Air Force in Japan, Germany and Viet Nam. He retired from the military in 1968 at Lackland AFB, Texas. He continued his federal service with the Department of the Air Force at the Pentagon and Government Printing Office in Washington DC. He retired from his civil service career in 1986. His combined federal service totaled more than 30 years which included military service during World WarII, Korea and Viet Nam. Glenn and Dorothy celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 2007. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy; his parents; his sister Mabel Houghton of Edmond OK; and three brothers, Paul Moss of El Paso TX, William Moss of Sonora CA and Charles Moss of Edmond OK. He is survived by his two sons, Glenn Anthony Moss and wife Suzanne of Okmulgee OK and Christopher Scott Moss and wife Alison of Palmdale CA; three grandsons, Nathan Moss of Ft Campbell KY, Gabriel Moss of Camano Island WA, Stephen Moss of McMinnville OR; three granddaughters Chelsea Randall, Shelby Moss and Kelly Randall of Palmdale CA; and seven great grandchildren. Glenn has donated his body to The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center to further the fight against Parkinson's disease. There will be a Memorial Service at McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Okmulgee on Thursday, March 26 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a contribution to the National Parkinson Foundation in his name. We will all miss you (Glenn, Dad, PaPa).
