GLENWOOD MILLER Obituary

GLENWOOD IRVING MILLER  LtCol, USAF (Ret)
Glenwood Irving Miller (LtCol, USAF, Ret), beloved husband of Norma Miller, died peacefully October 25, 2015 shortly after sustaining a massive stroke. Formerly a resident of Alexandria, Virginia, he was born March 21, 1934 in Detroit, Michigan. An All Big Ten swimmer, he graduated from the University of Michigan in 1956 and was commissioned into the United States Air Force. He served his country proudly for 23 years, starting in Strategic Air Command as an Electronic Warfare Officer flying B-52s during the height of the Cold War, volunteering for service in Saigon during the Vietnam war and ending on the Joint Staff. His legacy was his vital role in the procurement and development of the EF-111A Raven. After his USAF retirement, he worked in the defense industry, most notably for the Calspan corporation and was a proud member of the Association of Old Crows. His hospitality and generosity were legendary as visitors always had a place to stay having feasted on tacos on Friday night or a good rare steak on Saturday. He was an avid golfer and tireless supporter of his University of Michigan Wolverines. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Norma, sister Marilyn Van Huss, son Dr. Michael Miller (Col, USAF, Ret) (Jody), stepdaughter Dianne Anderson (Doug), stepson Jim Duby (Terry), grandsons Matthew (Allison) and John (Stephanie) Miller, JD and JJ Anderson, granddaughters Ashley Anderson and Casey Duby. He will be buried with full military honors on February 10, 2016 at 1 p.m. at Arlington National Cemetery, reception to follow.Go Blue, Dad!
