I met Gloria and Bill during our freshman year at Georgetown and our paths ran into each other again and again over the years from being fellow parishioners at Holy Trinity in Georgetown to working with nonprofit organizations in Alexandria to my wife teaching their daughter French at Stone Ridge Country Day School in Bethesda.
No matter how many years had gone by whenever we did run into each other I could always expect ready, bright smiles and a warm greeting. In my opinion Gloria lived life the way it should be lived--engaged in causes that matter, hardworking, and quick to find joy in life. It uplifts the heart to remember her.

I am saddened to come back into town only to hear of Gloria's passing. I met Gloria at Sport & Health many years ago, and utilized her services with the SBDC when starting our business in 2012. I've been entertained by her children at their high school plays, and have thoroughly enjoyed many of her culinary offerings. She will be missed dearly as a network connector, SBDC resource, and mostly as a friend. May she and the Flanagan family find peace.

Gloria is one of the sweetest and nicest people I have been blessed to meet. Her family welcomed me with open arms and made me way more of a Hugger than i was before I met her son Jim up at school. She will always have a place in our hearts.

Remembering our dear friend of over 50 years, Gloria. She had a wonderful and sharp mind, a giving heart, and a generous personality. Much thanks for the wonderful conversations; delicious meals and recipes; witty comments; and shared experiences. Bob and Cathy
