Gregg Edwards Obituary

Gregg Edwards, PhD, DSc - AKA "G" - age 83, died September 12, 2024. Gregg was born in Dallas County, Texas on November 11, 1940 to Carl Stanley Edwards and Cordie Mae McFarland. He is survived by his sister, Carolyn Edwards Kazmann.

Dr. Gregg Edwards was an intellectual of a global magnitude, who dedicated his life to understanding the past, present and the future of human civilization. A life of scholarly study led to dozens of presentations with the World Future Society, AAAS, and as Special Guest of the Brookings Institution.

He earned his PhD at Rice University. Gregg was a Program Director at the National Science Foundation 14 years. He (co)authored Future Forces, and America in the 1990's. Clients - Microsoft, Rainbow Coalition, Department of the Navy - engaged him on his record for turning crises into turning points.

In 2013, after serving five terms as an ANC Commissioner in Mount Pleasant, Dr. Edwards was honored for his commitment, dedication and exemplary service to communities by the Executive Office of the Mayor, Office on Latino Affairs and the DC Latino Caucus.

A Celebration of Life will be held at All Souls Unitarian Church, 1500 Harvard St. NW, Saturday October 26 at 12 Noon. In lieu of flowers, donate to https://onrealm.org/ascu/-/form/give/general
