IRENE MAZUREK Obituary

IRENE MAZUREK (Age 90)
Passed away peacefully in Port Charlotte, FL on Saturday, August 13, 2016 with Walter, her devoted husband of 66 years, by her side. Born as Irene Margosian in New York City, NY, she moved to Washington, DC after marriage, raising her family in Rockville, MD. After retiring as a salesperson, she and her husband divided their time between the home in Maryland and their place in N. Ft. Myers, FL., eventually living in Florida full-time. Irene loved to travel, play cards, and entertain. She was best known for her gourmet cooking and her often humorous stories. Besides her husband, Irene leaves behind one sister Mary Smithers (Charles, deceased); two children, Douglas Mazurek (Susan) and Denise Higgins (Patrick, deceased); five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: Resource DevelopmentAmerican Foundation for the Blind2 Penn Plaza, Suite 1102, New York, NY 10121

We send our sincere sympathy and prayers to Walter, Doug and Denise. Irene was amazing and had such a wonderful sense of humor. We will always remember her smile and laughter as a neighbor in Randolph Hills.
