Isa E. Musa

Forever loved, forever missed. Isa Ead Musa died the morning of September 17, 2025 while picking figs in the backyard of the home he shared with his two daughters. Isa Ead Musa Abdessalam was born on February 17, 1926 in El Bireh, Palestine, the second of eight children born to Ead Musa Abdessalam (first mayor of El Bireh) and Aziza Darwish. As a boy Isa shepherded in the hills, and as a young man supported the resistance. He emigrated to the U.S. in 1949, and worked as a dry goods peddler before settling in Washington, DC. He met and wed Evelyn Mae Adams in 1950. He worked long hours as a chef and, later, store owner and restauranteur. Isa was a powerful personality, protective of his children, and proud of his Palestinian identity. He lovingly prepared meals for his family until the day of his death. Isa's wife Evelyn predeceased him in 2018. In addition to daughters Janan and Dalal, Isa and Evelyn are survived by two sons, Yazeed and Amir, three grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Islamic funeral and burial took place on September 19 in Falls Church, Virginia. Donations to honor Isa's life and memory may be made to Palestine Children's Relief Fund.
