James Cacheris Obituary

James C. Cacheris and his beloved wife of 64 years, Sally A. Cacheris (née Ricci), passed away just days apart. James passed April 29, 2025 and Sally passed May 2, 2025.

Jim, a respected federal judge, and Sally, a devoted educator and community leader, shared a deep love for family, service, and one another. They are survived by their four children — Anne Farley (Gordon), John Cacheris (Aimee), Mary Ege (Collins), and Michelle McCann (Eric) — 10 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 28 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home, 9902 Braddock Road, Fairfax, Virginia.

A memorial service for James Cacheris will be held on Thursday, May 29 at 11 a.m. at Saint Peter's Episcopal Church, 4250 N Glebe Road, Arlington, Virginia, followed by a reception at Washington Golf and Country Club.

A memorial service for Sally Cacheris will be held on Friday, May 30 at 10 a.m. at Goodwin House, 4800 Fillmore Avenue, Alexandria, Virginia, followed by a reception.

A private burial will follow at a later time.
