Well, it's been seven years since you left us but your spirit and legacy remain with everyone who's lives you touched through the memories and lessons that will always remain and be passed on. Your daughter-in-law has also departed this life and it is our faith that tells us that you both can now rest from your devoted service in this life and enjoy the rewards of it in the next. Miss you both and so thankful that we were blessed to have you with us for as long as we did. We will love you and miss you always.

Deacon James Earley was a true Christian warrior for the Lord. My family and I were truly blessed by his presence at Brookland Union Baptist Church. He stood on the shoulders of many but his love for Christ allowed others to stand on his shoulders as a beacon of light , hope and faith. Rest in loving peace my friend. Gone but not forgotten.

Cousin Jimmy, I will miss your presence and warm smile. When we heard you were in the hospital, we immediately got on the phone with other family members. We dropped everything to be there by your side. You always "showed up" for family and we wanted to "show up" for you. We miss you but it helps to know that you're one of the angels watching over your family.

Dear Jimmy: Thanks for that first trip to the beach. Thanks for that first outing to a restaurant. Thanks for being a wonderful uncle and loving family man. You are truly missed!

Jimmy was more like a brother than a brother-in-law. We always took time to chat when I called Mary. I will always remember that he loaned me his brand new 1964 Chevrolet Impala to take my driver's test, which I easily passed. He will always be remembered but truly missed. God bless him and his family.

Good morning, Dad. It may be So Hard To Say Goodbye To Yesterday but you will always be here with us through the memories of your guidance, protection, wisdom and laughter but most of all through your love of God and family. Well done, God's faithful servant. Rest In Peace.

Dearest Jimmy, it has almost been a year since you left my side and the presence of family & friends. No one has forgotten you or the love and service you so freely gave to all of us. If God grants us time, we will visit your resting place soon. You now RIP and safe in the loving arms of Christ. Love forever. Your Mary

My dearest Jimmy, it has been so long since I have written to you. There is not a moment of any day that I don't think about you - your voice, calm and determined manner, remember your dry though funny jokes, tenderness with our grandchildren - all too much to bear at times. Yet, it is these memories that keep me safe, secure and strong. You were not with me to pick out our Christmas tree, welcome 2014 or my birthday. I read the many Valentine cards from you while crying and caressing each one. Spring is now here in full bloom. Our Cardinal returned to the apple tree and was joined by a female. I felt this was sign from God that you and I are joined forever! So much of your abiding presence is with me all the time. What a gift you were and are. Rest well, until we meet again. Love always, Your Mary

Earley family, I have the best memories of Deacon Earley from my time of growing up at Brookland Union Baptist Church. He would always smile and ask how school and life were going. Of course, we played with Victor and Mark all the time. Praise God for the victory for there is no earthly sorrow that Heaven cannot heal.

Alfred L. Tennyson penned, "Sunset and evening star; And one clear call for me. And may there be no moaning of the bar, when I put out to sea...." Cousin Elizabeth and family, may you rest comfortably in knowing that he has met "His 'Pilot'" face-to-face, and seeks peace and harmony for you all. Love, Johnie Tillman and Family

To the Earley Family: my Christian brother Deacon Earley and tribe leader will be missed by our family for he shared the love, compassion and undying service to his Brookland Union church family. I will always remember his warm and heartfelt prayers, his quite and soft spoken manner and most of all the many years of service to our church. A servant of God has gone to meet his king and savior. We will miss him but God needed a treasurer to count the saved souls in his Kingdom.
