Retired New York City Police Detective and U.S. State Department Diplomatic Security Service Special Agent
With heavy hearts we are saddened to announce our beloved James Gerard Ferguson has passed away at the age of 83 in Boynton Beach, FL. The Brooklyn, NY native is predeceased by his loving wife of 50 years, Maryanne "Micki" and leaves behind his cherished daughter Erin Marie, beloved grandson Michael James; sister Kathleen; and brothers Edmund, Michael and Laurence; cousin William O'Malley, as well as many nieces and nephews. When Irish eyes are smiling, the world seems bright and gay...Jim's beautiful blue eyes always smiled and our world was better for it.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 from 11 a.m. until 12 Noon at The Gardens of Boca Raton, 4103 North Military Trail, Boca Raton, FL 33431. A funeral service will follow immediately after at 12 p.m. at the same location with viewing available online via live-streaming, please visit www.thegardens.com to sign-in for the broadcast. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on his online memorial page. In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and/or the Alzheimer's Research Foundation.

I send my love to you Erin, Michael James, and to the Ferguson brothers and sister Kathleen.
I especially remember Jim's wit as he and Larry talked on the phone over the past year. Both laughing their heads off. You were such a character in my mind, ready for a good prank and joke. You were loved and will be missed.

Jim was one of my favorite DS agents when I worked at the Department of State in the Bureau of Consular Affairs. What I personality! I called him Brooklyn. So grateful that I had the opportunity to know him. So sorry for your loss.
