My heart is heavy but yet rejoicing in the home going and life lived by one of my mentors in ministry "Pop" (as he was affectionately known/called by his friends and colleague in ministry at Alexander Preston Shaw United Methodist Church in Washington, DC). He encouraged me to answer the call of God on my life to not only teach God's Word but preach it also and he made himself available to me to help me with both. I will miss our calls and your words of encouragement to me, but I can see you now with our Pastor and Mentor, Rev. Everett W. Stevenson, Sr. laughing and joking as you did so many times when you were at A.P. Shaw. Well done God's good and faithful servant -- well done.

I am grateful for the encouragement and friendship of Rev Harrison. He was a gentleman and always shared a word of encouragement to me as a church administrator of a UM church for years. I will always remember his dedication to the church and his unique humor. Unfortunately, I'm not able to attend his funeral but pray that God will comfort his wife, family and friends during this season of bereavement. I will miss him dearly but will always treasure the times we worked together with other pastors and church leadership.
