My prayers and condolences to First Lady Mrs. Mary McCord and your sons. I thank my Pastor Rev Dr. James J. McCord for his leadership, guidance, teaching of Gods work and love that he gave me from a child to an adult at First Baptist Church of Highland Park. My heart is heavy and my heart also is grateful for having you as my Pastor and in my life. I thank you for all the times that you talked with me, mentored me and instilled the word of God in my heart and mind. I thank you for giving that same love and guidance to my daughters and for teaching them and leading them to love the Lord and baptized them with God's love. As a member of First Baptist Church of Highland Park for over 50 years, I have truly missed your guidance and teaching and know that you as a man of God helped me through life. I send my love and gratefulness to the family and honor all the deeds that you accomplished in Gods name. A true and faithful servant of God. I pray that God will continue to keep the family always in His mighty love and care. Saundra Womack, LaToshia and Lakellia Butler.

Over these past few years, it was my pleasure to meet and serve Rev. McCord when he would visit Zion Church to hear Pastor Keith Battle. Rev. McCord's presence was bountiful, even in his frailty. The last time that I saw him, (only a few months ago) with a hug, I helped him into his seat for service. It was an honor and a pleasure for me just to be in his presence!

Rest in Glory, thy good and faithful servant,
Rev. Dr. James C. McCord
