JAVIER SOLARES (Age 53) "Chico"
Of Fairfax, died suddenly on April 17, 2012. Beloved son of Martha and the late Raul Solares; brother of Carlos; uncle of Christy and Alex. He is also survived by many relatives and friends. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 26, 2012, at St. Mary's of Sorrows, 5222 Sideburn Rd., Fairfax, VA 22032. Interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's. www.stjude.orgwww.fmfh.com

Carlos, Martha, Alex, Christy, and all who loved Chico, my thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of terrible loss. I have only known Chico through Carlos' stories and hearing one side of his phone conversations with his brother, but his abundant generosity, kindness, and love were so clear even to someone who knew him only secondhand. I hope you will be comforted by the outpourings of love and affection from the hundreds and even thousands of people whose lives he touched in a positive way. In the ways his love of family, friends, DC United, life, laughter, and joy have inspired others, his spirit will live on forever.
