JEAN ELIZABETH WEIR  1935-2015  
On Saturday, May 31, 2015, of Bethesda, MD passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Beloved wife of Charles for 58 years. Loving mother of Wendy, Gregg (Beth) and Christopher (Lori); Devoted Sister of Judi Keegan; Grandmama of Molly, Preston, and Natalie and Aunt of David, Jill and Holly.A native of Michigan, she graduated from Seaholm H.S. in Birmingham in 1953, before graduating from the University of Michigan in 1957. While at Michigan, she was selected the "Sweetheart of Sigma Chi." Also while an undergrad, she helped develop and market the game "Texas Checkers", which was sold at Kresge's department stores. After graduating she was the Assistant Display Manager at Neiman Marcus in Dallas before relocating to the Washington, DC area in1960. In the early 60's, she was an award winning watercolor artist. In 1965 she co-founded American Art Associates where she began teaching art. She was an art teacher, kitchen designer and home decorator with Design Products in the early 70's as well as a producer and host of the children's cable TV show about art "Chalk Talk" in Charlottesville, VA for Jefferson Cable. She was also a member and volunteer at Bradley Hills Presbyterian Church and the Landon Woods Garden Club. She volunteered in the Bethesda community with the Walt Whitman H.S. Booster Club and the Bethesda Boys Club and was its first woman President. In later years, she started a floral design business, Vintage Bouquets, with Wendy and was the owner of a farming enterprise, WCF with Judi.A memorial service and private inurnment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jean's memory to the Washington Humane Society, www.washhumane.org/donate, The Friends Club,www.friendsclubbethesda.org/donate.htmlBoys and Girls Club of Greater Washington, http://www.bgcgw.org/donate/ or Bradley Hills Presbyterian Church, www.bradleyhillschurch.org.
