Jeffrey Michael Hamlin
Jeffrey Michael Hamlin passed away suddenly on February 23, 2023 at the age of 70. Jeff is survived by Betsy, his beloved wife of 30 years, his loving children, Jake (24) and Laura (27) and his future son-in-law, Austin Lutz. He is also survived by countless friends and his many family members.
Jeff was born August 23, 1952 in Woodbury, New Jersey. He graduated Phi Gamma Mu and Summa Cum Laude from James Madison University, majoring in Political Science. He bled purple his whole life. After graduation he had a long and successful career as Cyber Security Director of Sales in the Federal Agency Market.
Jeff's life was filled with the joys of a life well lived. He loved to make people laugh with his numerous jokes and "true stories". He enjoyed traveling around the world with his family, driving his sports cars, and exploring his roots on ancestry.com. He loved to play with Bandit the Wonder Dog (their family pet of 13 years) and he taught himself to play the guitar during Covid. He was so proud of his children and loved to spend time with them (especially for tech advice!)
Jeff was best known for being an honest, compassionate, protective and extraordinary husband, father and friend.

At the JMU Blue Stone Society Induction Dinner recently, on the Class of '74 Memorial Scroll, I was sooo sad to learn that Jeff passed away. He was a good friend at then-Madison College when he was a member of TKE Fraternity & I was an Order of Diana member - TKE's little sister group- and afterward. He took me to/from a dental surgery apptmt in about 1977 & attended my first wedding in Leesburg in '79. In college, he nicknamed me 'GinSig' & I called him 'JeffHam' which is how we always greeted each other on campus & at TKE parties. He was always so kind & funny. Heartfelt condolences to his family.
