Jens Knutson Obituary
Jens Norman Knutson
On Wednesday, November 29, 2023, Jens Norman Knutson, loving partner and father of two, passed peacefully at his home in Boyds, Maryland at age 73. Jens grew up in Rockville, Maryland and received a Bachelor's of Science in English and Philosophy from Frostburg State University in 1972 and a Master's of Science in Agricultural Economics from the University of Maryland in 1978. He had a successful career as a Vice President and Chief Economist at the American Meat Institute in Washington, DC. Jens loved nature and the wilderness and spent many days hunting and fishing in the woods and rivers near his home in northwestern Montgomery County, Maryland. Jens is survived by his wife, Susan, and his two sons Bo Anders and Ky Jorgen. He will be missed dearly by family and friends. A memorial is planned for Jens on Monday, December 18, 2023, at Milton Ridge in Hyattstown, Maryland, from 1 to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Jens' family asks for donations to Jewish Social Service Agency hospice services at

Sorry I am so late to post my condolences, I just heard of Jen’s death.
We were roommates and friends at Frostburg. Jen’s, my fondest memories of you were fishing at Tridelphia Lake, attending auctions in Frederick, and playing penny-ante poker with you and our wives.

So sorry to hear of his passing. We became friends at Frostburg but lost contact after I transferred to UMBC. Great guy. Funny, smart. Will be missed by many.
