What a tremendous loss, not only to me personally but to the world as well! Memories come flooding in with the blink of an eye. My 'kakaideu' will be forever alive for me, just so hard to believe that I won't see him or talk to him anymore!

Kakaideu, my brother-in-law, was a great human being. He is not here any more to pick-up the phone and call me as ‘Bhattacharyya mosai’, but he will remain among us as a source of inspiration forever. Although death is inevitable to all of us, to me his passing away was sudden and very shocking. I pray God for eternal peace of his soul in the heaven.

Jitendra Borpujari was a good economist and a kind human being. I knew him as a fellow economist at the IMF. He and I interacted many times, even after he left for the World Bank. We had numerous discussions on economic questions, especially during several lunches we had together.

No words can express the loss of our dear brother Dr. Jitendra Gopal Borpujari ('Kakaideu' to us) adequately enough. It was heartening to see people he met 46-50 years ago, not to talk about the ones he grew up with, cry hearing the sad news. The vacuum widens with time. Yet, he will always remain our guiding light.

I am deeply shocked at the sudden demise of Jitendra G.Borpujari , who was an internally acclaimed economist from Assam. He was known to me personally and the memories of times we have shared come clearly to my mind now. Jitu's jest for life was complemented by his brilliance and wisdom . The beneficiaries of his sound counsel and vision were some of the leading financial organisations in the world like IMF, World Bank and more. His death has taken away from us one of the illustrious sons of Assam, whose career will continue to inspire generations to come. At this time of grief, I offer my condolences to members of his bereaved family - to his wife Aroona, daughter Ipsa and Son-in law Don. I pray for his soul to rest in eternal peace.
