John Francis Fox
John Francis Fox, 70, of Laurel, Maryland, passed away on January 26, 2024, after a fierce battle with colon cancer. Born August 11, 1953, and raised in Glover Park, Washington, DC, John attended local elementary schools and graduated from St. John's College High School. Growing up, he was a football and baseball regular at Guy Mason Recreation Center in northwest Washington. Professionally, John was highly respected and admired by his colleagues and peers in the construction field. After graduating from St. Mary's College of Maryland, John worked for Pardoe Builders (later Pardoe/Fox Builders) in Washington. For the past 17 years, John worked at Home Depot in Silver Spring, MD using his skills and knowledge of construction to design custom kitchens. John had a lifelong love of sports and a special dedication to both the Washington Nationals and Commanders. John leaves behind his three daughters, Kaitlin (Fox) Johns and Samantha Fox, both of Aylesbury, England, and Cassie (Fox) Buglio of Cambridge, Maryland; his grandchildren Imogen, Phoebe, Thea and Jaxon; his sister, Mary Ann (Fox) McKenzie and her husband, Jim; nephews Christopher McKenzie and Michael McKenzie; niece Lauren McKenzie Henderson, and his devoted friend Noel Kaufman of Laurel, MD. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Hospice of the Chesapeake in John's memory. A memorial service will be held at St. Mary of the Mills Catholic Church, 114 St. Mary's Place, Laurel, MD, 20707, on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 10 a.m., with interment to follow.
