John Meininger Obituary

MEININGER, JOHN LOUIS (Age 86)

Died Sunday, October 26, 2003 at First Health Moore Regional Hospital. Born June 25, 1917 in Washington, D.C., he was a son of the late Christian and Fredericka Meininger. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Marcia Lynn Erickson. Mr. Meininger was an International Sales Representative for Ford Motor Company; a member of Pinehurst Country Club, Country Club of Naples, FL, the Elks Club and Community Congregational Church. He served in World War II with the US Army. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Dorothea E. Meininger of Southern Pines; one son, Ronald Edwin and wife, Anne H. Meininger of Gaithersburg, MD; one son-in-law, Richard F. Erickson of Arlington, TX; one brother, Carl Rosendale Meininger of Silver Spring, MD; four grandchildren, Charles and Amy Meininger, Wendi Jeanne Eddleman and Wayne Erickson; one great-grandchild, Sommer Eddleman and 15 nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 30, 2003 at Community Congregational Church in Southern Pines, NC. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Memorials may be made to the Community Congregational Church, 141 N. Bennett St., Southern Pines, NC 28387.
