John was a good man. I remember when I was a young kid and my Dad (Norman Smith) taught in the room next to John at Einstein High School. Several times I dumped "type" all over John's classroom floor. Dad would scold me and John would just laugh. Our deepest sympathy go out to Mary and her children.

I remember John fondly when I was an altar boy at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Washington, DC during 1966-67. John volunteered his time to work with the altar boys as our instructor and mentor. Thank you, John! May the Lord bring your peace and rest in your heavenly home.

So sorry for the loss of this great man and teacher. I was in his printing class at Albert Einstein HS in 1971-72. As one of the few girls in his classes, he took the time to make sure I was treated well by the Boys! With his help, I went on to making my own graduation announcements, wrote a monthly newsletter for the 6th grade class where I was an aide and a life long love of graphics. May he rest in peace!
