Passed away Sunday, April 22, 2007. He was born in Washington, DC on January 3, 1947, the son of the late John R. and Helen M. (Constantine) Thompson. He worked as a Project Manager at IBM Bethesda, MD and retired after 33 years of service. He was the husband of Patt (Woodruff) Thompson for 37 years. John is survived by a daughter, Jessica M., fiancee of Danny Ward Thompson of Aberdeen, MD; two sons, Ian S., husband of Jodi Thompson of Newark, DE and Shane A., husband of Jamie Thompson of Temperanceville, VA. John is also survived by a sister, Judi A. Fields of Lusby, MD; three brothers, Joseph W., husband of Nina Thompson of Fredericksburg, VA, Gary G., husband of Elise Thompson of Lusby, MD and Paul J., husband of Beth Thompson of Woodbridge, MD; sister-in-law, Margaret Thompson of Port Republic, MD, widow of brother, Claude Thompson; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, Chincoteague, VA, at 10 a.m., Thursday, April 26, with Father Paschal Kniep, OSB, officiating. Friends are invited to call Wednesday, 7 to 9 p.m. at SALYER FUNERAL HOME, 6327 Church St., Chincoteague, VA with wake service at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Eastern Shore, P.O. I've been around all of you for 20 years now, since Lauren & I went to Our Lady in elementary school. I've always thought of all of you as my second family! My deepest sympathy to all of you during this difficult time.

Although I retired from IBM in Bethesda, January 1989, I remember Jack. In those days we were indeed family. My heart goes out to each of you in this difficult time, and may our Lord bless and keep you.
