RADM John Mark Tierney USN (Ret.) passed away in Virginia Beach, VA, on Sepember 15, 2016. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 23, 2016 at Saint Gregory the Great Catholic Church, Virginia Beach, VA with internment at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery.

Every time I think of Uncle John, I am filled with a sense of pride. Not only did he have an amazing career, but he was very humble and fun to talk to. His life goes on as we continue to share his stories with friends and family. Loved him!!

From Arizona, on Google, I happened to see the obituary for John. Such a marvelous career and a wonderful long life. Guy and I have fond memories of our days at the Post Grad School in Monterey and then at Princeton Univ. Stu, love and prayers to you and all your family.
