JOSEPH A. LIEBERMAN of Chevy Chase, MD, formerly of Bannockburn, MD. Beloved husband of Tamar DeFries Lieberman and the late Rita Hackerman Lieberman; devoted father of Richard S. (Sarah M.) Lieberman, Vicki DeFries, Diane (Warren Wigutow) DeFries and Ruth (Jit Bajpai) DeFries; beloved brother of the late Annette (George) Hurwitz and Ephraim (Lenor) Lieberman; cherished grandfather of Jessica, Zachary, Triveni, Avi, Phoebe and Sophie and loving great-grandfather of Madisen. Also survived by loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2012, 11 a.m. at Adat Shalom Congregation, 7727 Persimmon Tree Lane, Bethesda, MD. Interment Workmen's Circle Cemetery, Baltimore, MD. Family will be observing Shiva at the Lieberman residence on Wednesday, December 19 at 7:30 p.m. and Thursday, December 20 at 7:30 p.m. The family will be receiving friends at the Lieberman residence on Friday, December 21 from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. and again on Sunday, December 23 from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Contributions in his memory may be sent to Jewish Social Service Agency, 6123 Montrose Rd., Rockville, MD 20852.
