To all the Pfeifer Family: My deepest sympathy for the death of Mr. Pfeifer. I have many fond memories of him from all the time I spent playing with Peggy and Patty at your house on Brookville Road. Even though another child around the house was probably the last thing he needed, he always made me feel welcome! I will keep him, and all of you,in my prayers.

Dear Mrs Pfeifer -
I send my sympathies to you and your big, wonderful family during this most sorrowful of times. Mary has told me how tough the last week has been for everyone, and how hard is the shock of Mr Pfeifer's sudden passing. My own dear husband also recently died suddenly. The love that poured down for me and my son from my siblings and family and friends, was the thing that moored me, and gave me the strength to carry on again, as your family's love and affection and compassion will do for you, I am sure. The tears will someday be replaced by loving rememberences, and happier times.
"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take - but by the moments that take our breath away"
How lucky you have been, for all of those moments, strung together for so many years -
Sincerely, Megin

Looking for the Sunrise
I’m not looking for the sunset,
As the swift years come and go;
I am looking for the sunrise,
And the golden morning glow,
Where the light of heaven’s glory
Will break forth upon my sight,
In the land that knows no sunset,
Nor the darkness of the night.
I’m not going down the pathway
Toward the setting of the sun,
Where the shadows ever deepen
When the day at last is done;
I am walking up the hillside
Where the sunshine lights the way,
To the glory of the sunrise
Of God’s never-ending day.
I’m not going down, but upward,
And the path is never dim,
For the day grows ever brighter
As I journey on with Him.
So my eyes are on the hilltops,
Waiting for the sun to rise,
Waiting for His invitation
To the home beyond the skies.

"THE ROSE STILL GROWS BEYOND THE WALL"
Near a shady wall a rose once grew,
Budded and blossomed in God's free light,
Watered and fed by morning dew,
Shedding its sweetness day and night.
As it grew and blossomed fair and tall,
Slowly rising to loftier height,
It came to a crevice in the wall,
Through which there shone a beam of light.
Onward it crept with added strength,
With never a thought of fear or pride,
It followed the light through the crevice's length,
And unfolded itself on the other side.
The light, the dew, the broadening view
Were found the same as they were before;
And it lost itself in beauties new,
Breathing its fragrance more and more.
Shall claim of death cause us to grieve,
And make our courage faint or fail?
Nay! Let us faith and hope receive:
The rose still grows beyond the wall.
Scattering fragrance far and wide,
Just as it did in days of yore,
Just as it did on the other side,
Just as it will for evermore.
