On Tuesday, May 17, 2005, of Georgetown, Washington, D.C. Beloved husband of Ella Stout Pozell; loving father of Joseph Benjamin Pozell. Brother of Angelina P. Stankas (George), Charles Pozell, Sidney Pozell and Larry Pozell Jr. (Nellie). Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Sunday, May 22, from 2 to 6 p.m. at The Renwick Chapel at Oak Hill Cemetery, 3001 R St. N.W. Services at the Washington Cathedral, Wisconsin at Massachusetts Ave. N.W., on Monday, May 23, at 10 a.m. Interment Oak Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to COPS Inc. (Concerns of Police Survivors), PO Box 31549, Washington, D.C. 20030-1549; Friends of Oak Hill Beautification Fund, 3001 R St. N.W., Washington, D.C. 20007 or HEROES (Honor Every Responsible Officers Eternal Sacrifice), 666 11th St., N.W., Suite 300, Washington, D.C. 20001. Ella and Joseph:
My deep sympathies to both of you. Joe was known to me through my extended family in the Moundsville area and his well earned reputation in the DC area. How very frequently small towns send their sons and daughters out into the larger world where their presence brings light, mercy, and kindness. Joe was typical of this.
You remain in my thoughts and prayers.

Ella and Joseph...we had so many happy times when our sons were younger, I miss those laughs and get-togethers. Joe's pride and love for you and Joseph was such a big part of his life. We will miss him.
