JOSEPH FRANCIS REID, SR. (AGE 65)
A Washingtonian, passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2017. Beloved husband of Sandra Reid; loving father of Lorraine Reid, Kara (Frank) Moynihan, Joseph Reid Jr. and Amanda (Brian) Corey; cherished G-pop of six granddaughters; brother of Edward (Sue) Reid and the late Kathleen Beall; and uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. Also survived by many friends and relatives. Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 19, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 313 2nd Street NE, Washington, DC. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., followed by Mass of Chirstian Burial at 11 a.m. Private burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.WWW.KALASFUNERALHOMES.COM

What a neighbor Joe was! We depended on Joe for so many things and our block misses him so very much. I am happy I got to live on A Street while he was alive and get to know him better. My condolences to Sandy and the rest of his family. I am certain today is a tough one, but know your neighbors on A Street are always here for you.

Sandy and family,
I'm so sorry for your loss. Joe was one of a kind. He always knew how to make me laugh and he never made me feel bad when I called on a Sunday night needing help with one disaster or another! I will miss him terribly and will never forget his kindness and friendship. Sending you all much love and most heartfelt sympathy.

I will miss Joe - he was such a wonderful neighbor who was always there for you with a funny story or a bit of local history. And he was all about community and making sure we all knew one another. He loved Capitol Hill, A Street NE, and his family. You will be missed, Joe!
