Dear Connie, you may not remember me. I only just found this. I was Joe's legal secretary at Bishop Cook. Joe taught me so much about law and questioning the world; he was brilliant, generous with his time and mentorship, and brought out the intellectual in me at a time when I was not sure how to be both female and express myself as an intellectual, rather than as just the secretary. He was the best boss I have ever had, and I considered him a friend and tried to stay in touch from time to time. I always enjoyed speaking with you. My deepest condolences to you and your family. Lucy
