Cherished wife of Dr. Wellington Gibson; devoted mother of Dr. Shenika O. S. Gibson and Georgina Gibson-Clarke; beloved grandmother of Worick Curry, Tresca, Contricia, and Leighton Clarke; and proud great-grandmother of O'mari Curry and Jarvis Clarke. Dr. Gibson is also survived by many other treasured relatives and dear friends.
A native of Washington, DC, Dr. Gibson dedicated her career to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. She was a faithful and active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.; International Free and Accepted Modern Masons and Order of the Eastern Star; and Columbia Temple #422, Elks Lodge.
Dr. Gibson will lie in state on Saturday November 29, 2025, at Imani Temple AA Catholic Congregation, 2420 Brooks Drive, Suitland, MD 20746, from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.; and followed by Delta Sigma Theta and Eastern Star services. At 11:30 a.m., a mass of Christian Burial will be held to celebrate Dr. Gibson's life. Final resting place at Fort Lincoln Cemetery, Brentwood, MD. Services entrusted to the Stewart Funeral Home.
